QUESTIONS TO ASK CONCERNING PRODUCTIVITY - DEPENDABILITY - SAFETY

Can the platform movement be controlled simultaneously from either end of the platform, on the ground, or from inside the rear door of the delivery truck?

Is the speed variably controllable, smooth, and gentle to operators and loads?

Is the minimum lifting or lowering speed of the platform from ground to truck height 7 seconds or less?

Does the truck bridge open and fold automatically for various height trucks during each lifting/lowering cycle?

Can a full capacity load be placed anywhere on the platform in any concentration without regard to “end roller” or “side roller” capacities or “centering” of the load?

Are bumper posts required to prevent truck damage to the lift?

What is the lowered platform height above the ground, or is a reinforced pit with drain required? Is an oil reclamation system and drain field required for the drain discharge in case of oil spills?

For above ground units, does the steepness of the off ramp require jacking each pallet all the way up for clearance? What provision is needed for containing oil leaks? Is an extra ramp needed to reach ground level?

What does the average lift require in factory replacement part purchases each year?

Is adequate foot and toe protection provided on all sides of the lift?

Will the safety chain and platform railings protect both employees and loads from falling off a raised platform?

Does the standard lift meet all state and Federal OSHA requirements? Has the manufacturer ever been cited for product safety violations or by OSHA compliance?

What do drivers, retail employees, and maintenance people think about the platform lift compared to any others they may have worked with before?

What is the level of CUSTOMER satisfaction from those using the platform lift in excess of five years?

Does the platform lift have design features and options which permit customized cost-cutting use inside, outside, stationary, or mobile depending on specific store delivery needs?

Is there excellent maintenance of platform lift investment value, or does the lift lose up to 80% of initial price the day it is installed?

Have platform lifts required major repair or total replacement within the first 3 to 7 years, or are they designed for a minimum 15 - 20 years of low maintenance life under super tough usage?
